More Ribbing

I made a cool headband thing! I kinda like this even though I messed up on the ribbing pattern a little. I was making a hat, and then I was like, "I'll stop it now." I really actually like this. It looks cool. I'm getting better at ribbing! It's very nice because it covers your ears, so it's warm. I also really like this yarn! My brother got it for me. I really like the color, and I like working with it. I will now probably post things as I make them. Get ready for more knitted things and more progress. Next up: Possibly a hat! Model Sarit is a whole new type of model.

Whoooooo

Ok so the pattern I took this from was supposed to be an infinity scarf. I really like how I did the ribbing pattern. It looks nice when it's not like this. It can't really be worn naturally, so here are some awkward pictures of me. I should have shown you a picture of it when it's not on someone. Oh well!

This week on Sarit Knits: Poncho

Yes I made a poncho. This is a poncho. I really really like the pattern on this. I know you probably can't see it so well, but It's quite beautiful. So as you can tell I ran out of yarn. I don't really like the right side of the first picture. It's really tightly ended, and it looks weird. The back of it looks weird. I think the front generally looks pretty good. I should become a professional model, because wow! Werk it, Sarit. Ok. That's enough of this post.

I made another hat (and surprise!) I'm not satisfied with it. However I have some nice things to say about it.

Look at these fabulous looking pictures of my modeling my hat. I used a pattern on this hat, but it was a little small. It fit my head fine, but I had to stretch it a little. It did not fit Idit's head. I messed up on the ribbing pattern. I've been trying to get better at it, because I really like the way it looks, and I've seen it a lot in stores. I like the way I ended it though. Tying the stitches together at the end looks way better than the other ways I've been ending it in the past. Yay for learning! I've been trying to recreate this pattern, because the picture looks so darn cool! I want to make it! I've been working on hats for awhile now, and while I think I've improved, I don't think I've made many hats that look like a real hat. Who knows. That may just be me.

The Bird-Bat

This is some sort of bird/bat creature that I made with my cousin. I knit everything, and she instructed me. We stuffed the creature with cotton balls. We tied the head with a ponytail to keep it separate from the body. We hung it from my door for a good long while. It was fun.

Twinning with Gru

I made this to mimic Gru's scarf from Despicable Me. I saw Despicable Me 2 in the movie theater, and the whole time I was thinking "I can totally make this!" I attempted it. I think I did OK. I made up my own pattern. It doesn't look identical, but it looks similar. The edges rolled up on the sides. My naive self thought I could iron it after I was done, but you can't iron yarn. I should figure out how to make the edges straight. Also I should have made the gray smaller, and the black smaller. I spent a good long time on this, and I'm proud of myself. I made this on regular needles. I don't remember what size.
It's like we're identical twins. Which one is Sarit and which one is Gru?

Plot Twist! A hat I made looks like a hat!

I made this hat for my very amazing friend, Iliana for her birthday. I really liked the yarn I used for it. It was a thick kind that's twisty. I can't explain it that well. Why can't I remember what it's called!? Did I ever know? Goodness, I would love to get me some more of this yarn. This hat would have been so much more beautiful If I could fix the top! This is the first hat that I was actually proud of.  It's a nice solid hat. UGH THAT TOP THOUGH! I WANT TO FIX IT! I am still proud of myself for this. No pattern was used. I also used a circular needle. I've been using the same one. I love that circular needle.

The hat that is not green with envy

This hat had so much potential. If only I knew how to tie together a hat. If only.

The Circus Tent

I'm giving you that look that people sometimes do when they're wearing sunglasses. I messed up twords the top, so the top sorta looks like a circus tent. The bottom half looks pretty cool though.

Half and Half

This hat is a cool hat I made. It looks good from this angle, but it's kinda wonky looking in real life. I started making a ton of hats this year. It has an overall nice shape, and I did a nice job keeping the same pattern all throughout the piece as I intended.

This is a hat that I made at some point

This hat looks good from afar. It's like those cool dot paintings that you can see the beautifulness from a far, but up close it's just a bunch of dots. I like how the hat starts, though.

Look At This Model

Shout out to Idit for modeling my hat. It looks OK as a beanie if you look at it at a certain angle. I think I tied it together too soon.

Boring post about a not so interesting hat

This hat is sorta fine. I tried to end the hat too soon, and I didn't keep track of how many stitches I knit together. I like the little spiky thing at the top, though. I kinda like the rolled up brim look.

Sarit Gets Funky

This time I decided to get funky with it. I made a mistake, and I turned it into something beautiful. The cool thing about this hat is that you can wear it as a Mohawk or a side thingy as shown in these pictures below. I still didn't use a pattern for this hat (I really don't use a pattern for a long long time). I don't use a gauge either. I am still currently confused about gauge, but I am trying. Look how creative I got with this hat.

A Fun Hat To Wear To A Cold Beach

I think this was the second hat I made. This hat is what the kids these days are calling "The Knitted Sun Hat." I still didn't use a pattern for this. It's an improvement from the last hat I made. I did well for figuring it out on my own, and not using a pattern. I still used a circular needle for this.

The Day I Became A Hat Model (for my own hats)

This is the first hat I made. I made it on a beach trip with my family. I think it was the Summer of 2013 going into Sophomore year. I made it with circular needles that I still use. I messed up on some parts, and didn't really know how to finish it, but I was pretty proud of myself for finishing that hat.

First Post

I am making this blog to keep track of my knitting progress. I might also write some comments on how I'm doing. What I think I could do better next time and such. Shout out to Idit!
