Guess Who's Sack...Sack Again!

Whooo! This has been my long term project for about a year now. It is a sack for my whole body! My face can't fit through the top. You can also turn it upside down too if you want! The sack is fun for the whole family! I used many different colors of yarn and size 8 circular needles. The bottom pictures are me in the process of making it. I sometimes turned it inside out and knit from the inside. So fun! Today has been a slow year of knitting, but it has been fun to knit this sack. It's been easy to get in the swing of knitting this and not having to think a whole lot about what to do next. Please enjoy so many pictures of me in this sack.

Smile For The Camera!

Hooray hooray! I can finally start taking pictures on my Polaroid camera! I'm so excited! I just got the film today and I made a camera bag to hold my camera and keep it safe. The handles are the back right of one side to the front left of the other. I also sewed bubble wrap in it for more protection. I just knit a large rectangle and sewed up the side and bottom. The camera does drag the bag down a little, but I think it's still secure. I cast on 50 stitches for this case and used the stockinette stitch for it all. I cast off most of the stitches when I was done and left 16 stitches for the handle. Then I sewed the other part of the handle on to the other side of the bag.
I've been reading this book that my Dad recommended to me called Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson. It is about his experience as a lawyer with the injustice with the judicial system. It's really interesting and it's really interesting for me to learn about a life that I've never lived and feel like I'm in the shoes of someone that has a job I don't, and life experiences I don't. It's really interesting so far and has made me think a lot about how much affects one person. I think a lot of people think that certain laws affect a broad amount of people and that the law is always perfectly executed, when it actually isn't. Some things fall through the cracks and often get overlooked because people feel like it only affects a couple of people, but it leads to drastic changes in that person's life. Majority rules isn't always the most effective because individual lives matter. No one's lives matter more than others. This happens a lot with disability rights, where people with disabilities won't get what they need because the majority doesn't have those same needs. They often feel they can't justify the cost of one person being able to participate, but without the accommodations, that person's life is greatly negatively affected.
I'm really excited to start taking pictures with this camera! Hooray hooray!

Here I am!!!!

Here is me showing you the bubble wrap inside the bag.

A Butt

Here's a picture of a butt. Gotcha! Not an actual butt. I am improving the fair isle. I'm still a little confused on the difference between fair isle and intarsia. This is fair isle, I'm pretty sure. Some things I fixed are: to make the lettering thicker, I used lettering I found online that was similar to scale, and when there are large gaps of one color I make sure the second color gets put in by before I go to knit or purl the next stitch, I take the second color strand and put it over the work and then continue the row. If there is too much of one color it could tighten the spaces in between the letters and wouldn't leave it as flat as before. I think this one looks the best. I think the B looks a little wonky, but I am pretty happy with how this turned out overall.
I've done so much during this winter break. I am now currently sleeping in my sibling's room while they're back in school. I don't start until a little later. I've done so much knitting this break and I'm really happy about it. I really need to do more summer planning and scholarship searches. I haven't really done that much.
