En Route

I started the front piece of the sweater! I still want to finish this sweater before Winter Break is over. Time really moves fast when you are doing nothing. So fun. I just wanted to make this quick little post. Tomorrow we are going to L.A. So pumped. Going to spend a lot of time in the car tomorrow. Whoop whoop. I'm watching The Office right now. Good show. I don't have much more to say. Fun times. This was worth your time.

Done With The Back Of The Sweater

I finished the back of the sweater! 1 out of 4ish pieces done. This took awhile to make, but it was really fun. I am really learning a lot about sweater making and I'm super excited! I've wanted to make a sweater for so long. I was really inspired by the Christmas lunch/dinner last night because the guy whose house we went to was so good at art and crafting and he can knit really quickly and make really cool things. So last night I stayed up really late knitting and I wanted to finish this back piece quickly. I used size 10.5 size needles and a pound of blue yarn. I hope this will be enough. I'm so excited to learn more about sweater making. So I didn't finish the collar part because apparently you do it at the end when you connect the back piece and the front piece. I think you connect them both at the collar and then sew in the rest. I'm pretty sure. I'll read the pattern, though and see if that's correct. I'm so excited about this sweater. Like it's probably not going to be fantastic because it's my first sweater, but so far there are not really any holes, even though my Dad handed me my yarn and accidentally took some stitches off and I had to put them back on and it got a little funky. I'm excited for the finished product! It feels good to get a good chunk of it done. I'm going to hang out with my best friend later. I'm excited!

Fancy yarn fancy yarn

I got me some fancy yarn courtesy of my parents because of Channukah. I finally got some yarn from Northwest Wools! I basically picked out the yarn and then told Mom and Dad it was my Channukah presents and they said it was cool Thanks parents! It was so cool. They have a machine thingy that winds your yarn for you and they also gave me some free patterns. I'm always really nervous to go into the store because they know so much about knitting and I can't really afford their yarn. Today I went to a Christmas party today because it's Christmas/Chanukah today and the guy whose house we went to is amazing at all things art. His house is like a museum. He has plates on the walls and he needlepoint, knits, is musical etc. He has a really cool house with such amazing art. Anyway, I saw his half made really cool sweater sleeve and also this double knitted brioche scarf that was blue and yellow. I want to learn how to do double knitting again. I tried to learn at some point, but I kinda gave up. Whoops. I also tried to do that with cables. I kinda learned. Anyway, hopefully I learn some new stuff soon. Still working on the sweater!

Sarit May Earn Some Money

Hey I made a hat. My first commissioned piece! My roommate is paying me real money in return for this hat and I think it looks really good! There are no mistakes. There are no holes. I'm super excited. I'm worried it may be a little big on her, but at least her head will be warm. It's ok if she doesn't like it, but I don't want someone to pay me money for anything that I think is not good. I used yarn I got from Fred Meyers and I had a coupon. Score! I used my trusty size 8 (I think?!?) circular needles. The yarn uses size 8 needles. I've made this hat so many times because it's a classic. Classic hat. I like that this yarn is kinda shiny. I'm still working on the sweater. It's going pretty well so far. I've been watching this show It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. It's not the best, but it's pretty entertaining. People at my school really like it. I saw Rogue One, the new Star Wars movie, yesterday. I did not like it. I'm so annoyed because it's just like with the Avengers. When the Avengers first came out, it was revolutionary. It was so cool. Movies did not do the kind of cross over that they did with the Avengers. Then they just milked it as much as they could until their movies became just about filling out a template and making as many movies as possible that they sacrifice the art of the movies and take out the quality and pursue the quantity. Now Star Wars is starting to following in their footsteps. Not with like The Force Awakens trilogy, but with the million other dumb movies they're making. I'm hungry.

In the process of making the hat

Me In My Dorm and New Project

Hey. Here are some pictures of me in my dorm room. There are also some in my room at home at the end. I am also starting a new project. I am knitting a sweater! I am back home for a month because of Winter break. I have absolutely no homework to do because I haven't started any of my classes. It's very freeing. I am going to make this sweater and do many other fun and creative things I've wanted to do for a long time. I'm going to make my zine! I'm going to write minimally on this post because I have a lot of pictures. However, I am very much enjoying college and I hope I will continue to do so! I want ice cream right now.

Knitting, I Have Missed Thee

Sometimes in college it is so hard to do things for fun. You get so wrapped up in studying and spending time with other people that it can be hard to find time for yourself. This is true for me. Many people have different experiences in life. I am grateful every day that I have this experience available to me that many others do not have. I am so happy in college and I hope that feeling doesn't go away. Also I really like my nails. They're sparkly gray. I'm re-watching Gilmore Girls to prepare for the release of the special tomorrow. I've only watched the very last episode and I'm watching the pilot right now. I really like this sweater that I'm wearing. I got it at Goodwill. I've missed knitting so much. Time to yourself is very important, folks. Today is Thanksgiving and I was feeling very distressed about being home at first. I guess it's really weird because I don't really have a space of my own here because my brother took over my room and changed everything. But now that I am in my room alone it feels really nice. Last night my roommates left to go to their Thanksgiving places so I had my dorm room to myself. It was really nice. Time to yourself is so nice. But not too much! Balance is the key to everything. Remember that, kids. Remember that. I've missed knitting so much. I made a coaster for one of my roommates. I am also making this. It's going to be a scarf, but I'll probably get lazy and stop making it. That's ok. Also I just want a week where I do all my hobbies! I am going to try to make a zine about my hearing loss. I am reading Gone Girl right now and it is SO good! Yesterday I did stand up comedy at the open mic at school and it was really fun! Like right now I don't even care if I'm bad right now, because I have so much more to learn and I'm so excited about that! I'm also watching some TV. TV is great. I love hobbies. I am very thankful for so many things today. Today my Mom worked really hard to cook a really nice meal and make Thanksgiving really nice for my family and I really appreciate it. Also she gave us all presents as late birthday gifts and also others. I really appreciate that. I've really missed knitting. Maybe some time I'll take some pictures in my dorm.

I Left College

Haha gotcha! Clickbait! I'm just home for fall break which is Thursday and Friday off. College is going really well! I love my roommates and my friends. Also my classes are really cool. I am currently in my room that my brother has taken over and redecorated completely. I really like this Absinthe poster behind me. It has a cool aesthetic. I started this hat a little while ago because I really missed knitting during college! I need to carve out some more knitting time because it can be hard to do that. I wanted to do a new post in my dorm, but oh well. Another time. I just got to see my sisters and rest of family after so long of not seeing them. That was really nice. It feels weird being home after living without home people for a month and a half.
