It's In The Bag

Have you ever wanted to look super cool while living a hands-free life? Now you can! I made a bag and took some pictures with it. This took many moons. I tried a more complicated pattern, but it proved too treacherous for this journey. I started over twice. Then I looked and looked for another pattern and found this hip one. It took awhile, but it wasn't too bad. It worked on a circular needle, which broke twice and lead to a bunch of stitches being off the needle. Fun times. Isn't this yarn so beautiful? I like it a lot. I used two strands at a time for this bag. I hope you have a nice day. I don't know what else to say.

JK. I'm going to add stuff like 5 minutes later from that last paragraph. I want to talk about talent. Most of the time when I try something new, I suck at it. That makes sense because it takes time and practice to be good at most things. However, there always seems to be that one person (of multiple people) who seem to catch on to things really fast, and sometimes makes you feel bad about your talent in that area. In my experience, this typically happens in an art area. For me, the good thing about knitting is that I'm not taking a class for knitting and I don't really have anyone to directly compare myself to. Does this limit how fast I get better? Since I am mostly self-taught and self-paced, am I not pushing myself? Does having someone to look up to help with progress? Does comparing yourself to other people lessen your drive and your self esteem? Maybe. I'm not sure. I've had a lot of experience of feeling really sorry for myself for being bad at a certain skill. I think, however, it is common for a person to make it seem like you're worse at something than you actually are. During Ceramics, I've been feeling like the work I'm making is SO subpar compared to others, and it hasn't been a great feeling. But should I keep comparing myself or focus on how much I'm improving on my own? I don't know! However, I think that, like with most things, I should have a balance between the two. Sometimes a certain talent comes really easily to some people, and sometimes it takes others years to master it. It's really important for everyone to understand that, I think. It's not always so easy, though.
Wasn't that fun? Look below for more fun.

I'm counting this as one of my New Year Resolutions: An Item I haven't made before.
